OUR HISTORY

In 1971, Mr. Lao Leng Siao started his garment business with only six sewing machines specifically catering to the domestic wholesale market in the central business district of Manila, Philippines.

After 10 years of continued growth, his son, Benson, took the company to high gear by supplying to major retail stores in the Philippines such as Shoemart, Gaisano & Ever Emporium.

Gaining momentum, Benson, once again took an aggressive step by venturing to the export sector, servicing clients in USA, Europe and Canada. This was in the year 1990.

Not to be undermined by Buyers increasing demand of competitively priced first class quality merchandise, SMTC once again outfitted itself by modifying its corporate structure and adopting an expansion program to be able to fully service their needs.

Today, SMTC has evolved into an aggressive and bustling company with annual sales turnover of US$40M.
